Who I am
Hello. I am Oluwabukola Sarah Odegbami — but most people call me Bukola. I am a psychologist, a mother, and a writer who found her voice in the most unexpected season of her life.
I studied psychology and have been pursuing opportunities to specialise in child and adolescent psychology. That door has not fully opened yet — but in the space between where I am and where I am going, I found writing. Or perhaps writing found me.
MumSpeaks began as a personal page on social media — a place to share fragments of my life. It became something larger than I expected: a community of mothers and women who find themselves in their own in-between seasons, reading my words and finding their own stories inside them.
I am also the author of MumSpeaks Life — a book born from raw motherhood. From the physical pain of loss, to months of healing, to years of acceptance. From grieving the loss of a twin child, to nursing a premature baby, to watching her child endure what could not be concealed. In those deep and defining moments, I found purpose. I ran to the Word — and the Word held me together.
This site is an extension of that same honesty. Welcome to MumSpeaks. I'm glad you're here.
A verse I carry
"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever."
Psalm 138 : 8

Book excerpt · MumSpeaks Life
Modelling is not what we post. It is what we live. And our children are watching far more than they are listening.
Book excerpt · MumSpeaks Life
Absence does not always mean physical disappearance. Sometimes it looks like being present in body but absent in connection.
Reflections
Not sermons. Not advice. Just honest thoughts from a woman learning to trust God in a season that hasn't resolved itself yet.
Latest reflection
There's a particular kind of grief that comes with unanswered prayers. Not the dramatic kind — the quiet kind. The kind that lives in your chest on Tuesday afternoons when nothing is happening and you wonder if God has simply moved on to someone more obedient. I've been sitting with that grief.
What silence from heaven has taught me about the nature of trust.

Some books are written in seasons of clarity. Mine are being written in a season of waiting — which means they carry the texture of real uncertainty, real faith, and real becoming. Click any book to begin reading.
